Le Macaron Bangkok

Le Macaron is somewhat like "candyland". Step inside and you are immediately greeted by the smell of gourmet patisserie, both savory and sweet. Located just at the lobby of Sofitel Sukhumvit, Le Macaron entices lovers of French gourmet sweet treats and pastries to savour in a modern setting in downtown Bangkok.

There, you also find a chiller filled with an assortment of macarons that will leave you spoilt for choice. We tried a few, and agreed that they were very much up to par - the filling doesn't taste artificial and the macaron shell was of the right texture.

Apart from the macarons, we also tried their tea set which easily feeds two (or even three). Served with coffee or tea, the tea set allows you to get almost the best of everything at Le Macaron. The specially put together set features their speciality macarons, cookies, pastries, as well as cakes.

Needless to say, the macarons were good. The lemon meringue tarts and chocolate cream puffs weren't too bad either. The scones which were served with whipped cream however, were a tad too dry.

I liked the fact there there was balance between the sweet and savory items. The sandwich and wraps with mushroom and ham were also pretty delectable and were of the right size to down. Second down my favorite list were the cakes.

Le Macaron is a perfect place to chill over a cup of coffee and enjoy Bangkok. They offer outdoor and indoor seatings, and if you are a hotel guest at Sofitel Sukhumvit, they also offer room service. And of course, the name Le Macaron lives up to its name - trust me, you won't be stopping at just one.
