The big buffet includes a section dedicated to fresh seafood such as crayfish, oysters and prawns. There is also a section with a wide range of Malay food such as Grilled Assorted Satays, Lebanese Chicken Rice and Chicken in Cashew Sauce, just to name a few.
One would most definitely be spoilt for choice at the seafood section with the assortment of fresh seafood. We particularly enjoyed the freshly shucked oysters that were very fresh and accompanied their in-house chilli very well. Another highlight would be the Whole Smoked Salmon, which is grilled as a whole and was lightly seasoned to retain its freshness.
At the noodle station, the freshly made on the spot Claypot Laksa is something you won't want to be missing out on either. The laksa gravy was rich and bursting with flavours, and was served with beancurd puffs which soaked up all the goodness of the gravy.
Moving on to the barbecue and cooked food section, be prepared to sink your teeth into Grilled Assorted Satays (Chicken and Beef) which were tender, well marinated, and charred at the right places. Another dish which we couldn't get enough of was the Grilled Squid which were very fresh and succulent despite being left on the grill.
And just like most or all buffets, the rule is always to save space for delectable desserts. At 1 Market, the desserts is as aplenty as the savoury food they have to offer. We found ourself indulging in Nonya Kuehs, cakes and puddings which we thought was the perfect way to end the meal.
1 Market runs full house on most days, due to their affordable prices and quality food they have to offer. Reservations are highly recommend to avoid disappointment and if there is a tip we want to share - starve before going for the big buffet, so that you can try everything and anything and not have to leave with regrets!
